//ACAP document.writeln('
An acronym for Application Configuration Access Protocol, an email protocol that complements the IMAP4 protocol. It is used to access client program options, configuration and preference information remotely. ACAP allows email client applications to store their options and preferences on the server in a standardized way, so the user can read his/her email from any place and any email client, while retaining all personal settings. The former version of ACAP was called IMSP (Internet Message Support Protocol).
